Earrings
I thought it would be fun to try to make some earrings for the first time. I came up with a basic design of using three different woods for circles of decreasing size. I used the bandsaw to resaw some 1/8 thick pieces of walnut, cherry, and maple.
As I was cutting out the circles I had a sudden idea to try another set with the “wave” design that I like to use. So for these I cut out the void for the wave and then filled them with some blue-green epoxy resin. Once cured, I cut out the circles around them.
I ordered some earring hardware components from Amazon which conveniently came in packs of about 1,000 pieces each. I hand sanded everything to 400, finished with Rubio Monocoat and used the earring hardware to put everything together.
